Artist Residency
at St Cuthbert's Centre on Holy Island
Tuesday 13th - Thursday 22nd May
What's in the name of this residency? 'Cuddy Connections' refers to St Cuthbert's nickname, Cuddy. (The eider duck which is common to the Northumbria coastline is affectionately called the Cuddy duck). Since my family name was Cudmore, Cuddy became my nickname at school too! But there are other creative more connections ....
St Cuthbert is linked to the city of Wells, close to where I live, and I am partnering creatively with St Cuthbert's Junior School, St Cuthbert's Paper Mill, and St Cuthbert's Church
There will be two workshops on
Thursday 15th May 10.30am-1.00pm
Saturday 17th May 10.30am-1.00pm
Cost is £15.00 and the registration form is below.
Art Workshop Thursday 15th May
At this workshop you will be out of doors sketching in the beauty of your surroundings. You will have the opportunity to use a variety of materials and make marks to explore different textures in a greyscale. We will be thinking about what makes a good composition when we return to the studio and develop the work, incorporating colour and other techniques. You may also participate in a collaborative piece as part of the artist residency. No drawing experience is necessary, just come along wearing appropriate clothes and footwear and enjoy creating!
